Exciting boost for law firm Greenaway Scott as it appoints new senior solicitor

Business advisory firm Greenaway Scott has welcomed senior solicitor Lorna Bolton to its growing team.

Miss Bolton has joined the firm’s commercial team, based at The Maltings in Cardiff, after spending the last four years as an in-house solicitor for TES Aviation Group.

While working as part of the Bridgend-based company’s legal team she oversaw contracts from start to finish including all related agreements.

This included handling a $5million deal to purchase five aircraft engines; the sale of an aircraft engine in the US for the purchase price of $6.25 million; and the lease and sale of two engines in Japan for $1 million.

Miss Bolton will work on the firm’s growing client base within the life-sciences, healthcare and technology sectors.

Miss Bolton said: “I am very excited to be taking on the new role at Greenaway Scott. It is a firm that I have been very interested in for a while due to its forward thinking and modern approach, specifically their in-house retainer style service which they provide to clients.

“Coming from an in-house background, I strongly recognise the benefits to companies of having access to legal teams with a deeper commercial awareness and understanding of their business requirements, and availability to use such services without having to be concerned with excessive costs normally charged on an hourly rate.

“When looking at the next stage in my career, whilst wanting the security of a law firm but maintaining an in-house style of working, Greenaway Scott was the perfect choice.”

Director of the commercial department and co-founder of Greenaway Scott, Rhian Osborne, said Miss Bolton’s appointment would bring a wealth of experience to the firm.

She said: “We are delighted to welcome Lorna to the team and we feel her diverse experience in the legal field will enhance our commercial offering at Greenaway Scott.

“Her expertise in instructing external solicitors in related jurisdiction, dealing with contracts from commencement to completion, and handling deals worth $7 million dollars are certain to be an asset at the firm.

“She is passionate and driven and ready to take this step as part of our team.”

Greenaway Scott provide corporate, commercial and intellectual property advice to companies, with particular sector specialisms in the life science, technology, pharmaceutical and IT sectors. The commercial team is made up of solicitors who are dual-qualified and have either a mathematics or science background as well as legal qualifications to ensure all advisors have a strong understanding of their clients’ markets.
